HUGH PHILLIPS —
COLORADO COUNTRY, ROCKY MOUNTAIN MADE
Hugh Phillips is a SSM Nashville / SKM recording artist rising fast out of the high country of Colorado. A natural performer and multi-instrumentalist, Hugh has been lighting up fairs, festivals, and honky-tonks across the U.S.—but nowhere more than in his Rocky Mountain stompin’ grounds, where his brand of Colorado Country hits home.
His debut radio single, “Boys That’s a Cowgirl,” introduced Hugh to audiences nationwide with remarkable success for a newcomer. In March, he followed it with the powerhouse heartbreak anthem “Bottom of the Bottle” SSM/SKM, paired with a music video release in April that stirred up buzz across the country music world. Gritty storytelling and a voice full of truth have quickly become Hugh’s calling cards.
Hugh’s roots run deep in songwriting. For more than a decade, he’s been crafting songs from his home in the Rocky Mountains—stories shaped by long roads, late nights, and the rugged beauty of the West. Writing is passion for Hugh, and it shows in lyrics that feel lived-in and real. With talents on multiple instruments, he shapes his sound from the ground up, blending the authenticity of traditional country with a fresh, modern edge.
In 2020, Hugh stepped into the role of executive producer for his debut album, It’s Been a Long Time, recorded in Nashville with award-winning producer Stephen Mougin of Dark Shadow Recording. The album became a breakout success, hitting #1 in Colorado and #2 on the Top 50 Global Country Charts, showcasing Hugh’s inventive style and genuine country soul.
On stage, Hugh and his high-energy band deliver a boot-stompin’ mix of originals and crowd favorites—from Merle and Waylon to Casey Donahew, Cody Johnson, Dierks Bentley, Zac Brown, Brothers Osborne, Midland, and more. Every show blends classic country grit, bluegrass flair, and Rocky Mountain spirit into an unforgettable live experience.
Hugh Phillips: real country, born in the mountains, built for the big stage.
